As you all know, we picked the beautiful village of Aberdour for our forever home and we have loved the warm reception from the locals, the community spirit and the stunning views. When deciding on a location for our wedding, we wanted to stay local and welcome our friends and family here.
Our big day will be a bit quirky, intimate and tailored to what we both enjoy. We sincerely hope you can join us to eat, drink, dance and be merry.
We have created this website for you to see what we have planned, share some videos of the village and keep in touch with our guests. The plan for the day is at the On the Day section of the website.
Enjoy the site and see you soon, lots of love!

Ian & ClaireThe Wedding Venue
The ceremony and reception are both being held at Studio72, which is just off the High Street in Aberdour.
Here's what we have planned for our big day — we can't wait to celebrate with you all!
1:45 PM
Guests Arrive & Be Seated
Please be at the venue and seated by 1:45pm. Thank you Elaine and John for the fabulous and unusual wedding car — you won't want to miss that arriving!
2:00 PM
Ceremony Begins
The ceremony will take place at Studio72, 72 High Street, Aberdour.
After the Ceremony
Drinks & Getting to Know Each Other
After the ceremony there will be an opportunity to have a few drinks at the tiki bar, served by our friend and local landlady, Lennay, and her team. We hope you will mingle and relax while we let the photographer, Dougie, work his magic.
5:00 PM
Dinner
We will be seated for dinner with toasts and speeches. Dinner will be served buffet style under the watchful eye of our friend, and owner of the very fine Aberdour Bistro, Matt.
7:00 PM
Evening Guests & Cake
We will be welcoming a few additional guests, including some of our new friends who have made us feel so welcome in Aberdour. Our beautiful wedding cake is being made for us by Claire's sister Gail and we will cut this when they arrive.
7:30 PM
Dancing!
DJ JAck Webster will be ready for us to start the evening proper with dancing and glorious tunes. Leonne has already put in her request for an eclectic range of songs, so if you want to add your own favourites that will get you dancing, let us know..🕺💃
Midnight
Last Orders at Studio72
We must close up the venue by midnight — but fear not! The Foresters Arms across the road is open till 1am. 🍻
Ian & ClaireLocal Accommodation
🏨
Where to stay
Aberdour & surrounding area
The local hotel has 16 rooms and is taking bookings now for the weekend of the wedding. It's small and not all rooms are accessible, so we recommend you book soon.
💡 Insider Tip
Mention the Carrie wedding and ask for Jason or Becca when you book — they are offering a small discount for our guests. Free car parking at the station with CCTV.
Other options are also available locally — from a double room with a host to whole cottage rentals with up to 4 bedrooms. We'd be happy to share recommendations, just get in touch.

How it happened
Our story of surprises
Our story is one of surprises. Well this was one of the biggest — at least for one of us.
We'd just been to Rochester in upstate New York to Geoff and Steph's wedding who you'll all meet as they too are coming to the wedding, and were returning across the Atlantic to Southampton with the Walkers (no introduction needed) on the Queen Mary.
It was one of the main themed ballroom nights and I'd planned a "wee surprise" for everyone. I'd only told Leonne and Grace as we were boarding as I wanted their blessing beforehand. I'm just glad she said yes, or I'd have been sleeping in a lifeboat for the rest of the journey!

💃
Get on the floor!
Everyone is invited to dance with us
Anyone who knows us knows how much we love to dance. This is such a foot tapper that everyone can dance along to. We would like everyone to join us in an updated version of the Slosh.
Don't worry if you don't know the steps — if you're moving, you're dancing! We'll try and find dance steps and add them to the video below, however it's truly just about getting on the floor and strutting your stuff in any way you want. 🕺

If you like a little hip action and less footwork, here's another version to get inspired by:

Your presence is our present
But if you'd like to give a little something...
The most important thing to us is having the people we love around us on our big day — your company truly is the greatest gift we could ask for.
However, if you would like to give a gift, we would be very grateful for a contribution towards our honeymoon fund for our trip to the Far East later in the year!

Honeymoon Fund
Any contributions towards our honeymoon adventures would be enormously appreciated and will help make our first foreign trip as a married couple extra special.
If you would prefer to give a physical gift, a gift list is available — please

Thank you so much for your generosity and love 💛

Ian & ClaireThings to Do in Aberdour
🏴
Explore our village!
Make the most of your time in Aberdour
We may be biased, but we think Aberdour is one of the most beautiful villages in Scotland — and we'd love for you to explore it while you're here. Whether you're walking off that post-wedding hangover the next morning or making a weekend of it, there's plenty to see and do!
🏖️ Beach
Silver Sands Beach
One of the finest beaches in Scotland, Silver Sands is perfect for a brisk morning walk to clear the cobwebs. Enjoy stunning views across the Firth of Forth towards Edinburgh, Arthur's Seat and the Lothians. In summer there's a café, lifeguards and plenty of space to breathe in that sea air. The ideal hangover cure! 🌊
One of the oldest standing stone castles in Scotland, dating back to the 12th century. Explore the grand hall, medieval kitchen, a beautiful walled garden with a beehive-shaped doocot, and the gorgeous painted ceiling in the east range. St Fillan's Church — one of Scotland's best preserved medieval churches — sits right on the castle grounds. Entry is free!
A quieter, more secluded alternative to Silver Sands, Black Sands sits beside Aberdour's charming harbour and is great for rock pooling. Watch the yachts bobbing in the marina, take a stroll along the Fife Coastal Path, or simply sit and enjoy the view across to Inchcolm Island with its stunning ruined abbey.
A view of Black Sands, the quirky angular Aberdour Boat Club (ABC), the harbour, headland and across the Forth to the Lothians.

🥾 Walking
The Fife Coastal Path
Aberdour sits on the famous Fife Coastal Path, which hugs the shoreline with breathtaking views across the Firth of Forth. Even a short stretch between Silver Sands and the harbour is a gorgeous morning walk — fresh sea air, scenic views and just enough of a hill to make you feel virtuous after the night before! 😄
Voted the fourth best golfing experience in Scotland by Bunkered magazine, Aberdour Golf Club is a hidden gem. The 18-hole par 67 parkland course sits right on the coast with stunning views. Visitors are very welcome — just be sure to book ahead. Only 20 minutes from Edinburgh Airport too!
You'll already be familiar with Matt and the Aberdour Bistro from the wedding itself — but it's well worth a visit in its own right! Freshly prepared breakfasts, lunches, coffee and cakes, right in the heart of the village. Perfect for fuelling up before your journey home. You might even spot some familiar faces from the night before!
We hope you fall in love with Aberdour as much as we have 💛
